David was a great host, probably the best I’ve encountered. He was very helpful and gave a great number of recommendations to nearby stores and restaurants. The location is perfect, just be careful getting up to the house since there is a great part of the hill that has no railing. Other than that, it’s a perfect 10/10.

Absolutely loved this place! We saw bears right outside the front and back door. One even came up to the hot tub while we were in it. It’s a beautiful home with a great view of Gatlinburg.

The Overlook is a fantastic property! Very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the cookware we needed for a multi-family Thanksgiving—the best of any property we’ve rented. Two full sized refrigerators were a major plus for our group. The kids loved the ping pong table and arcade machine. The hot tub and fire pit allowed us to relax and enjoy family time. David was proactive and pleasant making sure we had everything we needed. We’d definitely rent again.

Amazing home would love to stay here each time I visit

Great location inside and out and responsive hosts! I would say the only drawbacks being the shower gets really weak if multiple people shower at once and although it’s close to Gatlinburg strip, the uphill walk can be quite a handful but if you are fit or will drive down then it’s not a problem! Overall I enjoyed our stay and the lovely condition of this Cabin helped!

Wow! The pictures do not do this place justice, absolutely beautiful I was pleasantly surprised at how open and big the home was. Everything we needed was provided from towels to a perfectly stocked kitchen to the welcome gift that was left when we arrived. You can definitely tell David has put amazing thought into making sure everything was available. This home is very close to everything made it super convenient after a long day of walking and was incredibly easy to find. If you are looking for a beautiful spacious spot with amazing mountain + town views this is it!

Wonderful place for a weekend getaway. Close proximity to downtown Gatlinburg. David was very accommodating throughout our stay with quick response time. Will definitely be back in the future!

Had a great stay! Everyone enjoyed the home. There was plenty of room for 8 people. Everything was very clean. Beds were comfortable. My nephew really liked the arcade game. The location is private and very close to the park entrance, which is a plus. We even had a coyote visit the driveway one afternoon! The owners are very quick to respond to any questions. We would definitely stay again.ere

David and Brittany were great! The place was amazing – perfect for the 6 of us. The perfect base camp to do day hikes, visit the Gatlinburg strip, or to just lounge around and enjoy the view and hot tub! Thanks!

About The Overlook

Gatlinburg is one of the most popular destinations for families looking to getaway. Located in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, it is no wonder that the natural beauty and bustling activities bring families back year after year. Nestled adjacent to the National Park boundary, The Overlook mountain cabin is the perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and experience Gatlinburg from the best location possible. The cabin sits on a secluded lot surrounded by tall trees and lush greenery, providing privacy and a sense of peacefulness while still being only a 1/2 mile from the main street of Gatlinburg. It is less than a mile’s walk to the trailhead that leads you to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park welcome center.

The front of the cabin provides parking for 5 cars, and a charcoal grill that you can use to fuel up after a day of exploring the town. The backyard is completely secluded with views of Gatlinburg and Anakeesta, blocked only partially by the trees that surround the property and change to deep reds and orange in the fall. There is a fire pit with chairs, 2 picnic tables, and a covered hot tub all for your enjoyment during your stay.

Inside, the cabin is warm and welcoming, with cozy furnishings and decor. The main living area features a stone fireplace and comfortable sofas, perfect for snuggling up on a cold winter night. The fully-equipped kitchen has all the necessary appliances and cookware to prepare a delicious meal, and there is a dining table that seats six.

The cabin has four bedrooms, each with its own unique charm. The main level master bedroom boasts a king-size bed, and a twin bed with a private en suite bathroom with a custom walk in shower. Upstairs, you will find a 2nd master bedroom, again equipped with both a king-size bed, and a twin bed along with its own private en suite bathroom with another custom walk in shower. The 3rd bedroom has a king size bed, sharing a hall bathroom. The final bedroom is a bunkroom complete with twin over twin bunks and a queen size bed. The hall bathroom has plenty of counter space and a tub/shower combo. All the bedrooms have comfortable bedding and plenty of storage space.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy in the area, including hiking and biking trails, fishing, and horseback riding. The cabin is also just a short drive from downtown Gatlinburg, where you can find a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options.
